Some of us knit tighter or looser, with thick or thin yarns and with different stitches or techniques. So, many times when we are told the number of stitches or runs for a knitting project, it doesn't fit exactly the size we were thinking of. This can happen for knitting projects for adults or children, for projects with chopsticks or crochet... and it's very frustrating! and it's very frustrating!
That's why I think it's more important to know the measurements of the person we're knitting for than the number of stitches or the number of stitches. This way, we can choose the right size and while we are knitting we can take the measurements of our garment, to make sure that we will finish our knitting with the right size.
In order to help you in this process of taking measurements and understanding what size you should use, I wanted to make available the tables of measurements and sizes that I use. Here you can find the measurements for your different knitting projects, especially vests and sweaters.
I hope you find them useful!
